SharePoint Migration for the American Society of Hematology

Applied Knowledge Group was awarded a contract with the American Society of Hematology (ASH) to upgrade with Intranet from MOSS 2007 to SharePoint 2013 in late August. This also included the upgrading of InfoPath forms as well. AKG training their user base as well and with be performing Site Owner (ASH Ambassadors) training in the upcoming weeks.

For this contract, AKG understood that ASH wanted to take advantage of the increased functionality the upgrade would provide to their corporate Intranet, and improve productivity. AKG installed, configured and upgraded current platforms to Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013 for both development and production servers.

Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013 includes a major interface change from the MOSS 2007 version.  Users initially have difficulty understanding how to access functionality they use every day, as well as learning new features.  AKG provided “Delta” training for SharePoint 2013 to help users become familiar with the “Ribbons” and where to access key areas of SharePoint. In addition, this training included the changes to ASH’s corporate Intranet driven by the SharePoint 2013 upgrade, and an overview of the additional functionality available.

AKG set up AKG’s Intranet using Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007 back in 2008. And we were thrilled to help them with their migration to SharePoint 2013.
